What exactly does Caption Desk generate?
Caption Desk generates IPTC metadata for press photography, including titles, descriptions, keywords, and other structured fields. It helps you prepare photo deliverables faster while keeping every field editable before export.
Do I keep editorial control before export?
Yes. You review, edit, and approve the result before anything is exported. Caption Desk helps accelerate metadata work, but final editorial control stays with you.
Can I work one photo at a time or by series?
Yes. You can work on single photos or process a full series with shared context, then adjust each image as needed before export.
Is face recognition available in Photo and Series mode?
The purpose of face recognition is to detect whether the same person appears across multiple photos in a series, so you don’t have to name them repeatedly. It is therefore not useful in Photo mode, since there is only a single image.
Are my images safe with Caption Desk?
Yes. The photos you upload are used only to generate your IPTC metadata. They are never shared and are never used to train an artificial intelligence model. They are automatically deleted from our servers within a maximum of 24 hours, or immediately if you choose to delete them sooner. We are committed to this.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Caption Desk is offered as a monthly subscription with no long-term commitment. You can cancel at any time.
What happens to unused monthly capacity?
Monthly capacity resets each billing cycle. Unused photos do not roll over to the next month.
Is Caption Desk free during beta?
Yes. Caption Desk is free during the beta period. You can use the included photo capacity without entering a credit card.
Will I be charged automatically after beta?
No. You will not be charged automatically. If paid plans become active, you will be asked to choose a plan explicitly.
What happens to my account after beta?
Your account will remain available. Before the paid launch, you will receive clear information about available plans, limits and migration options.
